Competition Rules

Welcome to the official competition terms for Little Robot Stories, operated by author and illustrator Vicky Steane. These clear rules outline how to enter, who can take part, and how we choose our monthly winners.

How to Enter

Competitions are free to enter with no purchase required. They are currently open to UK residents aged 5 to 14 years old.

A parent or guardian must submit or approve every entry. Entrants may submit once per competition each month.

All entries must be submitted through the official entry form on our main Competitions page.

How Winners Are Chosen

Current Competitions

The Flower Hunt winner is chosen randomly each month. The Create-a-Friend Challenge and Little Robot Maker Challenge are judged by Vicky Steane and the Little Robot Stories team based on imagination, originality, and effort.

1. Flower Hunt: A monthly fun challenge for young readers.
2. Create-a-Friend Challenge: Design a character for Little Robot's world. Runs until 30 November 2026.
3. Little Robot Maker Challenge:A creative video, animation or game challenge for children aged 8+

Prizes

Closing Dates

• Flower Hunt: Signed hardback copy of 'There Was a Little Robot'. • Create-a-Friend: Digital copies of Little Robot Stories Books 1–3. • Maker Challenge: £50 worth of Little Robot products selected with the parent or guardian. Prizes have no cash alternative, though a prize may be replaced with one of equal or greater value if necessary.

Monthly entries close strictly at 11:59 pm UK time on the final day of each calendar month.

Contacting Winners

Winners will be notified via the parent or guardian email provided at entry. Winners must respond within 14 days of being notified, or another winner may be selected.

Original Work and AI Use

Privacy and Mailing Lists

Little Robot Stories will always seek explicit parent or guardian permission before publishing a child's personal information, photograph, or submitted entry online.

Create-a-Friend entries must be the child's own work and must not contain AI-generated artwork. For the Little Robot Maker Challenge, age-appropriate AI tools may be used only with adult supervision.

Information provided is used solely to administer entries and contact winners. Joining the Little Robot's Friends marketing list is completely separate and optional.
